Student Planner Updates for 2013-2014

Friday, February 1st, 2013

Quality Planners, Inc. continuously appreciates feedback from both educators and students. We make improvements based on these suggestions. Each comment is carefully reviewed by our Marketing and Educational staff.

This year we have incorporated customer feedback in creating our 2013-14 student planners. Our Middle School, Special Needs, High School, TRiO and College planners have all been redesigned to accommodate a larger writing area for students. This new design will enable students to stay on top of their assignments and become better at developing good organizational and time management skills.

In our College planner, we have added a new section on Creating A Resume and Cover Letter, Tips For Finding A Job and Preparing for a Job Interview. As college students embark into the job market, these guidelines will help give them an extra boost as they begin their journey into the workplace.

All our planners again feature numerous resource pages at no extra charge. Our Primary planner includes Character Building, Anti-Bullying, Math, Alphabet, Health & Nutrition and Colors & Shapes pages. Our Elementary planner includes Math & Science, Reading Strategies & Essay Writing Methods, Character Building & Anti-Bullying, Health & Nutrition Guidelines and Internet Safety Tips. Our Middle School, Special Needs, High School and TRiO planners include Grammar and Essay Writing, How To Do A Long Term Assignment, Math Measurements, Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry, Science Measurements and Periodic Table, Anti-Bullying Awareness, Studying, Note Taking & Test Taking Methods, Health and Nutrition Guidelines and Internet Safety Resource Page.

We are also introducing a new Christian Planner. The Christian Student Planner has been designed to meet the specific needs of younger children. Core subjects are pre-printed making it easier for the elementary school student. To promote more effective parent-teacher communication, a section for parent and teacher comments and for parent and teacher initials is included.

Each week includes Biblical quotes and inspirational words, a section for 20 Spelling words and offers tips on Character Building, Studying and Health. Free Resource Pages include learning material on: Math & Science, Reading Strategies, Essay Writing Methods, Character Building & Anti-Bullying, Health & Nutrition Guidelines, Internet Safety Tips and much more.

Quality Planners Donates Student Planners

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2012

This month, Quality Planners was proud to donate hundreds of our High School student planners to The Mentoring Partnership of Long Island. Mentor is located at 150 Motor Parkway in Hauppauge. The mission of the Mentor is to bring caring adults together with children in need through safe, effective mentoring programs. Since their founding, they have touched the lives of 60,000 youth, trained nearly 11,200 mentors, connected 11,000 children with mentors and assisted 220 programs with technical support.

Hundreds of planners were also donated to Pronto of Long Island located at 128 Pine Aire Drive in Bay Shore. Pronto is a non-profit Community Outreach Center serving Brentwood, Bay Shore, Central Islip and neighboring communities. Pronto’s Mission Statement is “To feed the hungry, clothe the needy, welcome the stranger and provide healing and hope to everyone who walks through our doors.”

After donating our student planners, Dan Fischer, Publisher of Quality Planners, stated, “We are proud to continue our long tradition of community service to benefit those of need in our Long Island communities.”

Teacher Appreciation Week

Wednesday, May 9th, 2012

“It is in fact a part of the function of education to help us escape, not from our own time — for we are bound by that — but from the intellectual and emotional limitations of our time.”
T.S. Eliot

Quality Planners, Inc. would like to acknowledge the dedication and hard work of all the teachers across our country. Through their commitment, our teachers are enabling a new generation of Americans to pursue their dreams. Only with the devotion and care of a teacher is a child able to grow to their fullest potential. We proudly salute our teachers and join in with numerous organizations, schools, parents and students in recognizing how essential teachers are to our community.

Quality Planners Adds New Resources to the 2012/2013 Student Planners

Thursday, January 19th, 2012

Each year Quality Planners, Inc. strives to introduce new and improved student planners. We take pride in adding features that assist teachers in educating their students more effectively.

This year, Character Building resources are included in our Primary and Elementary School Planners to assist in helping young people become responsible, and caring citizens. As Dr. Thomas Lickona, author of Educating for Character, stated, “Moral education is not a new idea. It is, in fact, as old as education itself. Down through history, in countries all over the world, education has had two great goals: to help young people become smart and to help them become good.” In our Middle School, Special Needs and High School planners character building words are presented weekly for active reinforcement.

For the higher grade students, we have included guidelines for college preparation. As the economy of the 21st century veers toward a knowledge-based economy, it becomes more important to enable students to prepare for a college education. Our planners detail the necessary steps – grade by grade – to make students active participants in their college planning.

This year our Elementary Student Planner has a new design that allows more writing room for the younger child. We have streamlined the weekly layout to accommodate the larger printing style of elementary school age children. Visit our Elementary School Planner web page to view the new layout.

At Quality Planners, we always appreciate feedback from both educators and students. We make improvements based on your suggestions. Please feel free to contact us with your comments.

Quality Planners Looks Back

Monday, January 9th, 2012

It’s been ten years since Quality Planners created a ground breaking student planner for the New York City School District. 550,000 middle school and high school students received a student planner with 30 pages of national advertising. The advertising was carefully selected to be school and age appropriate. Having advertising in the planners enabled the students to obtain the planners for free.

“We are very active in trying to go after alternative revenues,” said Michael Coneys, chairperson of the Chancellor’s Committee for Approval of School Advertising, formed in 1996 to regulate in-school marketing to New York’s 1.1 million students. “There are still groups that are very sensitive to it, but if we are responsible, then we really get much fewer complaints.”

In-school marketing through student planners was revolutionary and caught the attention of Adweek. An article detailing this endeavor, “Advertising Part of NYC Schools’ Student Planners” By Jack Feuer appeared November 18, 2002. (Founded in 1978, Adweek is a magazine that appeals to consumers and advertising professionals.)

As we begin 2012, Quality Planners looks forward to breaking ground again with our newest product Plannee. Plannee is an online student planner that will simplify and organize a student’s life.
